Health checks, immunizations, and illness information

Parents must wait for their children to receive a Health Check every morning.  This will ensure that the child is not physically ill.  A daily health check will consist of taking the child’s temperature, checking child’s throat, tongue, and eyes for discoloration, swelling and other signs of infection. Health checks will also look for any signs of abuse and/or neglect.

Parents must bring a health report signed by a physician upon enrollment.  Annual health reports must be kept on file.  Children’s immunizations must be up to date and a copy of their immunization record must be kept on file.  All children over the age of 12 months must have their Rubella on or after the first birthday.  Children 18 months to 4 years old must have the Hemophilia influenza type B (hib).

We are not allowed to admit a child who is ill. Please keep your child at home.  The objective is to protect the health of your child and the other children.  We will ask you to take your child home if they come in sick.  A child may return to the center once the child is free of symptoms for 24 hours and have obtained a health care professional’s statement that the child no longer has an excludable disease or condition.  If the child has any COVID symptoms, we require for the child to get tested before returning with a negative outcome.

The symptoms are as follows:

  • Fever over 100°F within 24 hours
  • Diarrhea and/or vomiting
  • Heavy nasal discharge or constant cough
  • Some condition that is contagious to the children that will put them at risk of being infected.

Facility is cleaned and sanitized daily.  Children are routinely washing their hands throughout the day.
